The purpose of PathPoint Assistive Technology Services (ATS) is to explore and connect

individuals with disabilities with technology that enables them to achieve goals and live the lives

they choose. Technology is a tool that can be used to help individuals with disabilities control

environments, make choices, communicate needs, access resources, build relationships, and

achieve goals.

PathPoint Assistive Technology Services use a person-centered method alongside assistive

technology best practices. The ATS team works with individuals and their support networks to

achieve goals by conducting assessments, finding the right tools, and providing training in order

to incorporate assistive technology into daily life for successful outcomes. PathPoint ATS aims

to build inclusive, compassionate, and equitable communities where all individuals can have the

opportunities to thrive and live their dreams.

PathPoint supports people in living the life they choose. The agency partners with people with

disabilities, people with mental health diagnoses, and young adults to pursue their hopes and

dreams through building life skills, developing meaningful relationships, and strengthening

workplace abilities. Founded in 1964, PathPoint was originally established to provide job training

for low-income people. It has since expanded to support more than 2,500 individuals annually

throughout five counties in southern and central California—Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis

Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. For people with developmental disabilities, the agency

specializes in residential, employment, and day services. www.PathPoint.org
